TFE Basic SIM Policies

Introduction:The following are the basic polices that are in place. All players, beginners to the most experienced are required to follow the fleet polices as listed here.

- This group SIMs in a PG-13 rated environment, that means, NO extreme profanity, NO sexually explicit writing or dialogue.

- Direct insubordination ***(Going against the CO's wishes IC or OOC)*** is unacceptable both inside and outside of the game.

- Do NOT use the addresses given to you for GAME PURPOSES for ANY types of advertisements, joke lists, or other NON-GAME related functions.

- All Starfleet- The First Era affiliated ships, WebPages, and other divisions MUST be approved by the Fleet Commander PRIOR to launch or official announcements.

- ONLY the **Commanding Officer** of a ship has the authority to promote/demote their officers or NCO's, using the Fleet Promotion Policy as a guideline for minimum time requirements. So, do NOT ask for a promotion.

- All players should follow the pre-established posting procedures of their ship, including required number of posts/week (if any). (These may vary between ships, so please contact your Captain for more specific information).

- For copy right reasons, we do not allow either canon characters or relations to canon characters to be actively played in TFE.

- All players should follow the general Star Trek (Enterprise Era) timeline and ideals, we stay close to canon, this includes:

- In principle, only Human, Vulcan, Andorian or Denobulan races are allowed to serve on the NX-Class ships. No more then three aliens are allowed to be part of any SIM, to stay close to the timeline and Era. For exceptions to this, the CO must seek approval from the Fleet Commander prior to assignment or announcement.

- No one should create lasting and extensive new technologies without the approval of the Fleet Commander.

- All vessels should use the approved uniforms and ranks on their manifest. See the database for details.

- All new members of Starfleet: The First Era have to complete the Academy. This includes a theory exam, as well as some practical log writing.

- All players should follow the chain of command, bringing their problems/ideas to their direct commanding officer FIRST. If needed contact the Fleet Operations Commander as next in the chain of command.

- Only the **Command Staff** of a SIM may start and end missions for that SIM, unless other arrangements have been given otherwise. All mission related plots and subplots must be approved through your ship's CO PRIOR to development. (i.e. You don't have to tell your Commanding Officer if you're going to ask the Chief Engineering Officer out on a date, but if you and the Chief Engineering Officer are going to go AWOL to save a dying planet, the Commanding Officer should know at least on an OOC basis).

- Do NOT kill another person's CHARACTER. NO ONE may use anybody else's character in ways unfitting to the previously established personality, or make major changes to that character, without PRIOR approval by that character's player.

- People are expected to be professional and courteous towards ALL other members, and RESPECT each other REGARDLESS of age, sex, personal backgrounds, beliefs, or writing abilities.
