In 2155, Starfleet Command commissioned a forward deployed outpost to support the fleet. The station is named in honour of Admiral Maxwell Forrest, and is humanity's first deep space station. The Outpost is in the Galad System and orbits the inner waterworld, "Njord".

Development
Forrest Outpost, or more formally know as Outpost Maxwell Forrest, is the prototype of Starfleet's newest space station class. As such, information on hit page is subject to change as the SCE fine tunes the final designs of the station during it's deployment.
Currently no stations of this class exist yet, but this is the proposal to fill the roll of Forrest Outpost.
The station consist of a central module from which three arms extend out at 120 degrees seperation. At the ends of each arm one module exist, containing docking facilities for visiting starships, weapons systems and observation equipment.
The station will also have deployed with it a single scaffold complex suitable for an NX class starship. While not directly connected to the station, it's proximity to the station will make Forrest Outpost the logical base of operations of any repairs taking place at the scaffold.
This class of space station, if proven successful and adopted by Starfleet is designed for rapid construction and deployment. It's modular nature also makes refits and total part replacement easier then with current space stations within space held by the UEG and her colonies and the Mars provisional government and her subsequent colonies.
Currently Forrest Outpost is also the testing grounds for autonomous defence pods. These pods form a defense perimeter around Forrest Outpost. Armed with lower yield phase cannons then the station itself, they are designed to assist in the defence of the station from raiders and out right assaults. Currently these are in the prototype stages and as such multiple variations are fielded while the SCE comes to conclusions on final design specifications.
