Featured Bio 1

Adavarre' Rahndi

Varre' was born on Daliwaka to Dallis Rahndi, a miner, and Minet Rahndi, a clerical/office worker in the Klingon mining office, in the Earth year 2131. She has two older brothers, ages 27 and 30. She attended school beginning at age 5 (2136) and following her 10 th year (2146), entered higher educational school (college or university), focusing on specialized training in the field of geology, with an emphasis in gemmology and metals. She also has a solid education and expertise in the field of zoology and animal behaviour and has made significant studies of the animal life on Daliwaka (and more recently on Gamma Sagittarii II).

Varre' is perpetually cheerful and optimistic, in spite of a suspicious curiosity. She is not afraid to ask questions and she deeply wants to understand things. While this is a plus for her as a scientist, she also questions why she is being asked, or ordered, to do something or wants to know more about a situation than may be appropriate for her to know. For this reason, she often incurs the frustration of her superiors. However, as the colony staff become more acquainted with her, they will come to value her pointed curiosity and find it often illuminates the situation.

Upon graduation in 2151, she was sent to work in the mining industry on Gamma Sagittarii II, as a gemmologist, primarily identifying, categorizing and preparing precious minerals for commercial trade. And the Klingons also made use of her zoological expertise in identifying, cataloguing, and characterizing the local fauna on the Colony planet. Through her work, a number of different species were found to be useful in a more or less domestic capacity in the agricultural industry of the Colony. Her competence in both gemmology and zoology led to the grudging, but serious, respect of her Klingon overseers and she was rewarded with considerable freedom. To Starfleet, she will be a valuable source of local scientific knowledge: geological, biological and agricultural.

Dr. Tsang

As a young teenager, Tsang set his sights on becoming a medical doctor. Although chastised early on for such a lofty goal by some, Tsang settled into a stubborn, well planned and goal oriented path. As soon as he was old enough, he volunteered in the medical field, first at medical clinics and later in hospitals.

At the end of his residency program, Tsang applied for and was accepted into the Interspecies Medical Exchange. Granted permission to continue his medical training with the IME Fellowship, Tsang moved to Andoria where he finished another year of training and speciality familiarization on Andorian physiology. After attaining proficiency and experience, Tsang was assigned to a number of an Andorian Imperial Guard units for the remainder of his two year fellowship.

Finding that he enjoyed the extra challenge of working on and with other species, Tsang applied for a position in Starfleet to further that career path. Ens. Shepard

Born in the American Midwest, Carson speaks with a hint of a Canadian accent. His family is of mixed descent, and he grew up in a small town, with the expectation that he would someday apply his knowledge in the field of science towards a career. He soon found, however, that he was more interested in spacecraft. He decided that, in order to ensure he was stationed on a ship, instead of in a ground support role, he would have to become a pilot.

Carson was interested in Starfleet ever since it was chartered, and began his career flying supply shuttles to Jupiter Station. This assignment was short lived after he was caught taking one of the shuttles for a joyride. His superiors took disciplinary measures; however, they were more impressed with his flying skills than they were concerned with punishing him. All the while though, he dreamt of what lay beyond the boundaries of the sky over his head. He would frequently confide his daydreams to Sh'nira , his immediately elder sister, with whom he always felt the closest.

Ignoring the pressure from his mothers, Da'nak went ahead with the enlistment. This brought him great resentment from his family, which all but disowned him. All except Sh'nira with whom he still remained close, and kept in touch with a secret correspondence.

Eventually, his skills were recognized as impressive enough for him to be recommended for a post in the newly formed officer exchange program, and he was sent to be trained at the newly formed Earth academy. Inwardly, while he was sad at leaving his family, Dan'ak welcomed this new challenge for what it was, a chance to fulfil his boyhood dreams of traveling and exploration. Commander Morgan

Sixth Commanding Officer of the NX-05 Yorktown.
